About
Douglas Manning is a attorney and entrepreneur based in East Texas. He graduated from Lamar University (cum laude) with a degree in political science, a minor in finance and a study focusing on sociology and interpersonal development. Thereafter, Douglas received law degree in 1994.
More importantly, Douglas is a survivor. Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease as a child, Douglas fought to overcome the debilitating disease.
Douglas’ personal development journey began in 2001 when his mother lost her battle with breast cancer only a month before the attacks on the World Trade Center. Six months later, he lost his mother-in-law to amyloidosis. The series of crippling events, coupled with his poor health, led Douglas into a state of grief, depression, financial mismanagement and debt.
Ultimately, he spiraled into a life of obesity, alcohol abuse and addiction.
Douglas began to seek and study various personal development systems. He ultimately began to change his life and circumstances after viewing the Movie, The Secret in 2006. Since that time, Douglas has shed the weight, built a real estate investment company, and consciously created a hoped filled, dynamic life for his family and himself.
It is his unique, common sense, East Texas, no BS approach to personal development that has helped him successfully counsel families in the areas of relationship repair, debt elimination, financial management, grief relief, depression suppression and purposeful living.
Douglas currently lives in Southeast Texas with his wife and lifelong companion, Shelley. Douglas and Shelley are excited about the impending adoption of their two boys, Robert and Mason. Currently, Douglas is developing a program to encourage and assist couples to adopt disadvantaged, older sibling groups.
Succinctly stated, Douglas’ life purpose is summarized in the following mission statement:
To be financially and spiritually free to live a life of conscious creation, adventure and awe of the Creator while motivating, teaching and encouraging others to do the same.
