Need A Business Opportunity Lead? Generate Your Own Leads

Posted on | September 22, 2009 | 1 Comment

Generating targeted business opportunity leads is probably the most difficult task any home business owner will face. However, the task may be difficult, but certainly not impossible.

Determine Your Target Market

There are several steps to follow to generate the targeted leads your business needs not only to survive but to thrive.

First of all, you need to determine your target market. The worse thing you can do is to market your online business opportunity to anyone and everyone. You are chasing leads rather than have leads chasing you.

You will also need a plan of how to reach the people in your target market. The plan will probably change several times, but you must start out with some kind of plan to get your started.

Your plan should eventually take you from average leads to superior leads that will increase your business.

Know Your Business

Next, know your business inside and out.  Do you need to generate home business leads or leads for a brick and mortar operation?

Talking to your target leads about your business is difficult enough without trying to talk about a business you don’t know much about.

Your confidence will be at its peak when you know your products and your business procedures.

What About Family and Friends?

If you want to contact your warm list of family and friends, it would be best to start with selling them on the product line first rather than the business opportunity.

Unless you know they are in the market for a business opportunity, you don’t want them on your sales team.

Most people in your circle of influence won’t mind buying product from you if it is something they can use and is a good value. You could find out from your product customers if they know of someone who may be interested in the business opportunity.

Asking for a referral takes the pressure off the person you’re asking and gives them a way of refusing your offer without seeming to reject you.

Use Qualifiers

You will need pertinent information from your leads in order to determine whether they are suitable for your opportunity.

If you have an Internet business opportunity, your prospect will need to have access to the Internet and have basic computer skills. If they can’t even send emails, they will need too much hands-on help from you to get started. Another qualifier will be the amount of investment needed to become a part of your business opportunity.

If your business opportunity lead can’t meet the minimum investment, then you and your lead will know up front that the opportunity is not for them at this time.

Conclusion:  You Can Generate Business Leads

We’ve discussed several things to remember when you decide to generate your own business opportunity leads.

It won’t be an easy task, but the results will prove to be much better than purchasing leads from a business to business lead generation company.
