Law of Attraction and Abundance are activated by Enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is truly a God-given quality. In fact, it means literally, “the state, filled with God.” The Greeks called one “enthused” who was possessed by the gods. In this situation, the whole being was intensified. All powers were stimulated in the direction of the highest degree. The soul was vitalized until it reflected the Divine.

The ideal of enthusiasm was known to Israel, for all the great men from the Bible had been God-intoxicated. Filled with the sense of the Divine Presence, they were inspired to speak the word of God. The Jewish prophets are examples of an intense enthusiasm.

Stirred through the God-urge, they were intensified in their power to interpret the message of faith and character.

They believed that God’s power filled their souls, and because He was with them, they had been unafraid of each and every thing. Jeremiah was known as to his prophetic office as a youth. He hesitated to answer the summons until God spoke and generated him with enthusiasm to go forth. All the seers of the Bible were God-enthused men, who fairly glowed using the radiance of the divine inspiration. The prophetic call meant that they were lifted from thought of self to the contemplation from the Eternal Cosmic. Once the idea that God is all there is resonates with man, they became inflamed with the very fire of God.

In the account from the inauguration of Joshua, we are told that God used these words: “Be strong and of good courage; fear not for I, the Lord thy God, will be with thee whithersoever thou goest.” When God enters the soul, we too may be enthused. For faith is like dynamite. Touched via the fire of God, faith will destroy indifference, and sweep before it all obstacles. We cannot achieve without enthusiasm. Life becomes drab without this intense force. With enthusiasm, we know no hindrance. We are driven as if by an invisible force and cannot tarry at the wayside inns of frivolity.

Success is largely the result of intense enthusiasm.

The law of attraction and abundance can only be activated by individuals who exhibit enthusiasm. Enthuse over your work. Existence will cease to be an arid desert. Discover on the mountains of God the eternal snows of faith which you can bring down into the Sahara of an empty life. Let the living waters of God rush through your becoming to ensure that the desert will become like a garden. Enthusiasm might be likened in the direction of the waters that irrigate. Whatever these streams touch will take on new life. Likewise, enthusiasm will re-vivify the soul that has lost purpose and galvanize a existence into new thought and action.

This is the pouring out of the Spirit mentioned within the Prophets. God gives every thing to people who are attuned to the Spiritual and Divine Harmony so that you can attain strength, joy and success inside your life.

God – The Secret Law of Attraction And The Bible?

I ran across this question recently:

I have questions about how come “The Secret” is so easy for us to understand how to get what we want in life, but for God loves us so much, why he didn’t show this in Bible to make our life easier?

If he did mention about Law of Attraction, would you please tell me which verses?

This question is only for the God believers who think “The Secret” has been working for them. Please don’t answer if you don’t know what “The Secret” is.

Dear Ken:

First of all, I am a Christian. So, let’s get that out of the way. I am also a LOA (Law of Attraction) practitioner. God did tell us about the Law of Attraction in the Bible – we just didn’t listen.

The basis of the law of attraction, in The Secret, is the concept of:

ASK – BELIEVE – RECEIVE

While many faiths echo the essential tenets of this formula, the Jesus, The Christ makes it clear in Mark 11:24:

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Many of the best Bible Believing Christians have not dared to ever step out, in faith, and take the Christ at His word. They mysteriously have the faith to believe that Jesus can grant them eternal life; but, their finances…..well that is another thing entirely. NO! NO! NO!

The Secret Law Of Attraction Answers Many Theological Questions

Many Christians find themselves drawn to the LOA because (1) it answers a lot of questions; and, (2) confirms their sneaking suspicions about the nature of God. Let’s explore both of these concepts further:

Christians find themselves plagued with such questions as: (1) why do “wicked” people prosper and “righteous” people suffer? (2) why do I tithe and live “hand to mouth” while the operator of the strip club down the street lives in financial abundance?

The simplest answer to these questions is derived by the principles of the law of attraction. The answer is:

BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THEY CAN !!!

The “wicked” strip club owner walks in financial abundance because he believes that he can do so. While the Christian is plagued with such self sabotaging beliefs as: (1) I have not been “good” enough; (2) I did not tithe enough; (3) money is evil; or, (4) I do not “need” more than those around me.

God created this world in such a way that it gives (or fails to give) whatever you believe or believe that you cannot have).

The Secret Law Of Attraction And World Of Warcraft

Fellow Christians, money is a medium of exchange that is provided for our use to fulfill our life purpose, our hopes and dreams on this earth.

For example, in World of Warcraft, people (represented as avatars) earn money to buy weapons, “spells” and items to make their gaming experience more fun and fulfilling. The creators of the game want money to be relatively easy to come by so that the players can continue to evolve their avatar and make the game and community more and more interesting and fun for all.

It works the same way in life.

God Is The Programmer And We Are Avatars In The Game Of Life

God is the programmer of our reality.

Wayne Dyer, and others, teach that we are not physical beings having a spiritual experience; but, spiritual beings having a physical experience. Indeed, we are spirits, walking through life, in avatar form, with the purpose of enjoying the game of life.

Like World of Warcraft, we need money in our game in order to enjoy it. God created a world where money is relatively easy to come by. You can find this clause in the rulebook (The Bible) in the gospel of Mark 11:24. Money is easy to obtain because it helps us to fulfill our purpose in life and better enjoy the game.

Seek Your Bliss At Any Cost

After all, the musician needs lessons and an instrument. The aviator needs access to a plane. The lawyer needs money for training. The doctor needs money for training and equipment. The nun needs money to care for the poor in India.

Mother Theresa, whose life purpose and sense of joy came from helping the poor in the slums of Calcutta needed money. But, she never “earned” a dime of it. She simply prayed: Ask – Believe – Receive and it was provided to her.

Not everyone derives a sense of purpose or joy from living in poverty in the slums of India. Every Christian derives a sense of joy from being or doing something. There is no shame in this. God gave you those desires to motivate you to seek your bliss.

Sometime, the search comes with a financial cost. But, God provides the money to cover the cost; and, as a result, the Christian is able to make a difference in their lives, the lives of their family, their friends, their community and…..our world.

Beyond The Law Of Attraction: Higher Consciousness And Self Fulfillment

If you are wondering whether or not there is anything beyond the law of attraction, then you need to take a look at this article.

Many critics of the law of attraction complain that the law of attraction is merely a tool to satisfy materialistic cravings. However, what they fail to realize is that the law of attraction (or manifestation consciousness) is merely one level of consciousness. Each person must master this level of consciousness before they can trust God to work through them for the greater good of all. Fail to master the law of attraction and you will never be able to achieve a higher level of consciousness.

I am currently working through Dr. Michael Beckwith’s Life Visioning Program. As I do so, I found that he has a very good explanation of where the law of attraction fits into a program of personal development; and moreover, why mastering it is an important turning point on the way to achieving a higher level of consciousness. Take a look at this brief article and you will understand why I am enjoying his program.

Stage One: Victim Consciousness

In this stage, a person perceives something outside himself as the power that provides everything from basic needs such as food, water and shelter to abundance, relationships and, ultimately, happiness.

When “bad” things happen, a person living from a “victim consciousness” will describe the event as “caused by them or it” and “happening to me.” Whether “it” is family, friends, coworkers, society or an external deity, the victim asserts no control over his own life and blames someone or something for all of the good or bad that manifests within his perception.

I found this attitude in churches where, when praying for the sick, the prayer is concluded in a manner such as “And God, if you choose mot to heal Jane, help us accept and deal with her death.” Wow, now that’s an effective prayer of healing. Unfortunately, most people fail to ever escape this stage of consciousness.

However, the ultimate goal in this level of consciousness is to escape to Stage Two where he learns to consciously create all of his needs and wants, thereby ceasing to rely (or blame) something or someone outside himself. Through the process of accepting responsibility for his state of being as well as exercising the practice of forgiveness, the former victim arrives at a heightened state of consciousness whereby he realizes that he has the power and the responsibility over his own existence.

He learns to implement this newfound wisdom by moving to Stage Two – Conscious Manifestor.

Stage Two: Manifestor Consciousness

In this stage, the manifestor is aware his responsibility and power to consciously create the world around him. We call this the law of attraction. His perspective shifts from “he caused it to happen to me” to a “I caused this to happen to me.” With this newfound power his prayer life shifts from begging God to have mercy on him to declaring that God will (or has) provided all that is necessary to manifest the desires of his heart.

The manifestor couples affirmative prayer with meditation and visualization, thereby allowing his thought to become things and change his circumstances.

This is where critics argue that the person should be declaring that God’s will be done, instead of their own. The problem with this argument is two fold. First, a good argument can be made that the desires of your heart come from God. God gives the musician the desire to own an instrument and the builder the desire for materials to build.

Secondly, before the person can ever trust God to the point that he can surrender and let God work through him, he must know that he has the ability to control his own destiny. Only, then can he let go and let God.

Once the manifestor masters the law of attraction, he will awaken to a higher level of consciousness that reveals two truths. The first truth is that material possessions do not lead to fulfillment. The second truth is that when you know that you can have the desires of your heart, your desires change from materialistic desires to spiritual desires.

At that point, the manifestor is ready to move to Stage Three – Conscious Channeler.

State Three – Channeler Consciousness

In this stage the manifestor, having mastered his domain, has built a level of confidence and trust in God to allow God to work through him for his greater good as well as the greater good of mankind.

This is commonly referred to as being “in the zone” whereby you somehow accomplish extraordinary undertakings but cannot explain how you were able to do it. In this stage the channeler realizes that “God did that through me.” Through the practice of meditation, the channeler surrenders his will to God and lets go of all earthly baggage.

The more the person meditates, the more time he spends in union with God. Eventually, he will be able to maintain this state when he not in meditation. At this point, he awakens to the final stage of consciousness.

Stage Four – Being Consciousness

In this stage, the channeler exists in a state of union with God.

As he persists, he eventually realizes that God is expressing himself as that person. The person’s perspective shifts from “God did this through me” to “God did this as me.”

In this stage, the person’s sense of self begins to dissolve and he realizes that his consciousness is the consciousness of God along with all other things in the universe are the same.

The subtle difference is that the person shifts from “witnessing” God work through them to realizing that he is the spirit of God participating in the creation of his own life. You no longer are “in the zone”; but, instead, you “are the zone.” As Jesus said “I and my Father are one.”

All of the other stages of being have prepared you for this consciousness. Knowing that this consciousness flows through all matter in the universe, the person becomes one with God, nature, other humans and the cosmos.

The Law Of Attraction Is A Waypoint, Not A Destination

Now that you understand that using the law of attraction is only a means to an end, you understand why the critics of conscious creation miss the point.

The law of attraction is merely a point of transition a life of blame, victimhood and helplessness to a life of trusting God to work through you for your good as well as the good of mankind. It is important to master the law of attraction so that you understand that you have the power and the responsibility to consciously create your reality.

Only then, you move from a point of materialism to a higher level of consciousness where material manifestations pale in comparison to the wonderful things created by God through you and, eventually, by God as you. So, it you felt as though embracing the law of attraction was selfish and base, reconsider your conclusion.

The law of attraction is a tool to take control of your circumstances on your way to a level of existence that creates good for all of mankind.

Don’t Know How To Control The Law Of Attraction? (Part Two)

In Part One, we discussed the fact that the law of attraction is always at work. But, it is up to the individual to guard his thoughts to ensure that the universe works to reward his conscious creation efforts. Unguarded thoughts or persistent negative self talk will cause the Universe to deliver more of what you do not want, or, at the very least, dilute your efforts to manifest a better life.

Let’s continue to look at additional reasons why the law of attraction may not be working for you as planned.

The Universal Laws Do Not Work Well For Pessimists

I grew up in a conservative Christian household. My parents really kept me on a short leash. For that, I am actually thankful. However, one of their favorite tactics was to convince me that God was an angry dictator sitting upon his throne ready to smite me for the slightest transgression.

It was not until I studied the law of attraction, other religious teachings and became a parent, that I really began to understand the true nature of God.

The God of the Universe is not some disciplinarian that delivers a misery and pestilence upon you if you get out of line. If you believe that, it is no wonder that you are having problems with conscious creation.

Let me tell you what I have learned about God over the past two years. Whether you believe that God is a physical being or a force of nature, He is kind and benevolent and wants you to be happy. As a Christian, I now view him as a benevolent father. Because I am now a father myself, I have a better understanding of why He created me and what he wants.

Here it is.

He created me because he wanted someone to love and receive love. He gave me a life purpose so that I could be all that I wanted to be in this life and so that He could express his nature through me.

This attitude is shared by other religious practitioners. God created man for the same reason we create children. He wanted someone to love and give love back to him.

He created us as a means for him to create, express beauty, art, music and love. When God wants to create music, he inspires the musician. When he wants to create art, he inspires the sculptor, the painter and the gardener. Do not be afraid to hope for the desires of your heart. It is God who implanted those desires within you. It is okay to want something better.

Quit approaching the Universe as if you have been caught with our hand in the cookie jar.

Instead, step forward and claim what God has already prepared for you. The reason you want it is because He created that desire within you. The Universe will bless you and reward you with the desires of your heart.

The Law Of Attraction Does Not Serve You If You Have Doubts

You cannot expect the law of attraction to really work for you if you are holding back your full commitment to your goal for fear of disappointment.

If you grew up in a conservative Christian household like I did, you heard your parents qualify their prayers with the

“If it is God’s will.”

This is really an expression of doubt.

Our parents and clergy mistakenly try to protect God’s reputation by giving Him an out. Unfortunately, in doing so, they created the very thing they feared – an unanswered prayer.

God, or the Universe, does not need you, me or anyone else to protect its reputation. God grants each of us free will. God, or the Universe, responds to our exercise of free will with the law of attraction. It is the ultimate expression of the exercise of free will.

God simply delivers what we consciously, or unconsciously, want whether it benefits us or not.

We are free to doubt and reap the fruits of our doubt. Instead of choosing to doubt, exercise your free will to

Believe

You will not need to make any excuses for God. You will not need to protect yourself from disappointment. The law of attraction will respond to your exercise of free will by rewarding your conscious creation efforts.

The Universal Law Of Attraction Requires Unwavering Belief

Disbelief is the ugly step-sister of doubt.

At least, when you express doubt, you believe it can happen but have reservations that it might not.

When you are plagued by disbelief, you not only do not believe it is possible, you unconsciously erect barriers so that your reality will remain consistent with your lack of belief.

If you are broke and living on the street, you might not believe that becoming a millionaire is possible. If you have been plagued by abusive relationships, you might not believe that you have a special someone out there. I grew up with limiting beliefs regarding money and happiness. I was taught to believe that:

Life required “hard work”
Money was “evil”
Money was hard to acquire
Rich people were selfish and evil

I did not begin to manifest the desires of my heart, with respect to money, until I released these limiting beliefs. Regardless of your goal, eliminating your own disbelief is imperative in order to consciously create the life you desire.

Go take a mental inventory of the limiting beliefs related to your goals. It is time to face them, strangle them and bury them. Once you have gathered an exhaustive list of your limiting beliefs, it is time to write down the reasons that each belief is false and/or why the goal is achievable.

For instance, if your limiting belief is that:

“Money is difficult to acquire…”

then you might write the following

“Even though I once believed that money is difficult to acquire, I know of several people that have acquired vast fortunes with little, or no, education, effort or expertise.”

Repeat this exercise for each limiting belief. Then, place these affirmations in a list and review them daily. It will take time, and lots of repetition, but you will eventually change your beliefs as you begin to look for, and see, that your limiting beliefs were false all along.

Conscious Creation Sometimes Requires That You Ignore “Reality”

If your day to day actions, thoughts, observations and emotions differ from your visualizations, affirmations and dreams, the law of attraction is going to respond to the most powerful emotions.

For instance, you cannot manifest financial prosperity if you are constantly worrying about your credit card debt. The law of attraction will give you more credit card debt because your emotions are attached to that reality. You are either prosperous, or not. If are trying to consciously create health, but you focus on the fact that you are overweight, you are going to retain the weight. You are either getting healthy or staying fat.

Fake it until you make it.

Whatever you might think about Hugh Hefner, his success is a perfect example of the fake it until you make it technique. Hugh Hefner was generally dissatisfied with his life when he decided to start Playboy. As part of the effort, Hefner changed his image and persona to reflect the successful playboy that he wished to become. It worked. Playboy was a monumental success and Hefner owes his fame and fortune to his conscious decision to become his dream.

You have to let go of your reality, even if you have to pretend that the roadblocks to your success exist. It will be challenging at first, if you repeatedly keep turning your attention to feelings of wellness, abundance, and joy, (instead of lack, struggle, and illness) you will shift your focus and change your reality to match it.

In Part Three of this series, we will complete our discussion as to how common mistakes serve to sabotage your conscious creation efforts.

Does The Law Of Attraction Contradict The Bible? (Part 2)

In Part 1, we examined whether or not the law of attraction is biblically based. Actually, the law of attraction is not a biblical law. It is a natural law was made available to mankind, by God, regardless of religious faith. Today, we will examine whether or not contradicts the teachings of the bible, particularly with respect to material wealth and God’s purpose for our lives.

Law Of Attraction And Materialism

Many of the criticisms lodged by Christians against the law of attraction have centered around the presentation of the law of attraction in the movie, The Secret.

These Christians mistakenly believe the law of attraction is primarily focused on getting material possessions.

They are wrong for a number of reasons.

First, using the law of attraction to accumulate stuff only addresses one tiny aspect of the law of attraction. “The Secret,” was created for a secular audience. What is the one thing that is common amongst all the people of the world?

Material wealth

I have watched the movie about eight times. I can assure you that I did not get the “gist” of the movie the first couple of times. It is, quite frankly, a lot to digest.

Second, after seeing the film several times, I was able to catch the more subtle aspects of the law of attraction such as the need for gratitude, self esteem, inner peace, joy and a desire to achieve one’s purpose in life for the good of all mankind.

Didn’t catch that?

Go back and watch the movie again.

It is there.

The Law Of Attraction And Our Life Purpose

The student of the law of attraction would argue that God created each of us to live up to our life purpose. That purpose may be found by searching the desires of our heart.

Once that purpose is discovered, it is natural and right to attract material things into our lives to carry out that purpose. For example:

God gives the musician talent because God wants to create music. Therefore, a musician naturally wants a musical instrument.
God likes to grow food and he gives the farmer the passion to work the soil. But, a farmer needs land.
God desires to give to his children and he gives the philanthropist the desire to give. But the philanthropist needs money and material resources.

The attraction of certain material things in our life is necessary for God to achieve His purpose through us.

But, God also gave us free will. He will not make the musician make music. He WILL plant a seed within the musician’s heart so that the musician will WANT to make music.

Still, the musician, in an expression of free will, must ask God for the means to make the music a reality.

Using The Law Of Attraction For Material Wealth Is Not Evil

Being rich is not “evil”. God wants us to walk in abundance in all areas of our lives.

So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who keep on asking him! Matthew 7:11.

I mean, do YOU want your children to live in poverty? Okay….

Why would you think YOUR Father would want you to live in poverty?

Too often Christians have been taught that material wealth is not a godly goal. In fact, this teaching is rooted in:

a desire by the clergy to explain why so many Christians are poor, or,
a fear that God will not be faithful if the Christian dares to hope for prosperity.

Look, God is not the cause of poverty.

The Christian causes his own poverty by his refusal to practice sound money management coupled with a poverty mindset working in conjunction with the law of attraction.

Let me say it again:

God does not make you poor. You make “you” poor by having a poverty mindset (law of attraction) and failing to practice sound financial principals.

The fact is that all Christians are called to be and do great things. Unfortunately, lack of material wealth leaves many Christians in bondage to debt, ineffectiveness and mediocrity. The truth is that we each need material wealth to obtain the tools and means by which we learn, grow and expand our lives, and in turn help others do the same.

Financial wealth, in the proper perspective gives us freedom.

When we are not saddled with the worries of lack, we are more free to share our abundance with others, thereby raising them up out of a poverty mindset as well.

Wealth, like electricity, can be used for good or evil.

Where wealth is created and power is acquired by utilizing the creative power we possess as part of our God-nature/divinity, the wealth is being used for good.

Where the wealth and power is acquired to be better than those around you or for other selfish motives, wealth can be evil. Depending on intent, the result is light or darkness.

Law Of Attraction, Like Any Other Natural Law, Can Be Used For Evil

I recognize that the law of attraction, if used selfishly for evil, can contravene the Bible.

For instance, a person might want to accumulate money and possessions for the purpose of gaining power or influence over his neighbor.

However, the law of attraction has its own remedy for this type of behavior. It is called by many things in many cultures:

The concept of Karma
You sow what you reap
Whatever you send out revisits you three times over.
As a man, thinks, so is he.

All of these sayings reflect the idea that the law of attraction gives you more of whatever is in your heart.

Sure, evil people use the Law of Attraction for selfish personal gain. But, in doing so, they will attract more evil to themselves. The wicked will prosper, for a time. But, ultimately, they will be destroyed. It is in this way that the law of attraction is consistent with the Bible.

The Law Of Attraction And Satan’s Deceit

Because of the work done by Christ on the cross, we are free of the bondage of Satan. Christ has the keys and has opened the door to our prison cells. Satan’s only power is to deceive us by convincing us that we cannot simply walk out.

As a result, many of us stay in the cell.

When an elephant is very young, it is trained to stay in one place by tethering it to a pole with a small rope. As it grows, it continues to be tethered to the pole with the same small rope even though it could easily snap it with one movement of his foot.

Through clever deception, the elephant is held in place when it could easily escape.

Satan hopes that Christians continue to ignore the law of attraction.

By doing so, we remain poor sick, depressed, burned out and broken. On the other hand, Satan and his demons, who are thoroughly versed in using the LOA, can influence ungodly individuals to use the law of attraction to manifest evil schemes into reality.

Christians need to learn to utilize the power of the law of attraction. The Christian, armed with a healthy knowledge of the law of attraction is in the best position reap the rewards. After all, Christians are, or should be, aligned with God.

Christians who reject the law of attraction are not utilizing the universal power of God that lives within them to create the abundant, joyful and loving lives that God intended for His children.

Conclusion: The Law Of Attraction Was Created By God For Our Benefit

I tell you the trust, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20.

Either Jesus is the Son of God and the verse above is true, or Jesus was a liar. I believe that Jesus was telling the truth. As I have begun to take his teachings literally, I have seen the truth of this verse work in my life.

The law of attraction has strengthened my belief that I live in a loving universe ruled by a loving God.

He gives me free will and free reign to create the life I desire. If I follow the purpose that He has laid upon my heart, the life I create will lead to happiness. If I follow Satan, the life I create will lead to my destruction.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man….

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

God intended that we lives our lives on purpose, consciously creating the desires of our heart. By ignoring the law of attraction, we are powerless, fearful, poor, sick and depressed.

Instead of standing tall and powerfully seizing the power that is our birthright, we cower while timidly begging God to intervene and make us happy.

There arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him,

“Master, carest thou not that we perish?”

  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, “Peace, be still”.

  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them,

“Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”   Mark 4:37-40.

Jesus was a bit perturbed that the disciples woke him up to calm the storm when they could have easily done it themselves.

The fact is that God set up the universe so that we are responsible for calming our own storms through the power of our thoughts, intent and belief (faith).

To have it any other way, would be to deny us the power of free will.

As the song says, “I got the power!!!”

God gave us that power!

As Christians, we should embrace the law of attraction as an acknowledgement that God has indeed given us the free will to choose our lives and the power to create the desires of our heart.

So, does the law of attraction contradict the Bible?

I say No.
