The Secret Law Of Attraction: A Complete Guide To Manifesting Abundance (Part One)
Posted by Douglas Manning in goal setting, law of attraction, life purposeSo you’ve seen The Secret and want to get started applying the secret law of attraction? Where do you begin in your efforts to manifest abundance? Over the next several days, I would like to share a beginner’s step by step guide to using the secret law of attraction to manifest abundance. Everything you will learn in here is free, or nearly free.
The goal of the law of attraction exercises in this guide is to help you:
- Figure out what you really want. If you do not know what you really want, you cannot establish a plan to obtain it. Moreover, you will not be able to cultivate the necessary positive emotions that supercharge your conscious creation efforts. You will figure out what you want and develop a concise statement of life purpose.
- Focus on it in several ways. In order to manifest your desires as reality, you have to focus on them everyday, throughout the day. You will use the tools in this article to focus on your goals in a number of ways.
- Cultivate the positive emotions necessary to manifest the goals as reality. It makes no sense to focus on your goals unless you have cultivated the emotions of happiness and gratitude to assist you in your conscious creation efforts to manifest abundance. You will learn exercises each day that will put you in the state of positive emotions and gratitude.
Step One: Develop A Concise Statement Of Your Life Purpose
Before you can begin to set intelligent goals, you have to decide what motivates you. Otherwise, you will fail to follow through because of lack of emotion or self sabotage.
In Part Two, I will show you how to use these resources to form several free but effective law of attraction tools.
This is the time set aside all of the “shoulds” imposed on you by friends, family and well-meaning teachers.
Hey, this is YOUR dream and only YOU can determine your life purpose.
If you are having trouble determining your life purpose, here are a series of articles that you can read to help you find your way.

Tips For Finding Your Life Purpose
In addition, Steve Pavlina has a really good article on finding your life purpose over at his website.
In each article, you will notice that the desired end result is a concise statement of life purpose.
Understand, however, that this statement is not written on clay tablets. It can, and probably will, change over time as you progress upon your personal development path.
Here is my Statement of Life Purpose:
To be financially and spiritually free to live a life of conscious creation, adventure and awe of the Creator while motivating, teaching and encouraging others to do the same.
Now, I did not just pull this out of a hat.
It took me several weeks of writing, thinking, praying and rewriting before I was able to create this tightly worded, concise statement of what I want to do with my life.
It may change with time. But, you know what?
For now, every time I read it I want to cry.
Step Two: Set Your Goals To Manifest Abundance
If you have taken the opportunity to create a concise statement of your life purpose, you are now in a position to set one or more intelligent goals for each of the important areas of your life.
Authors Note: If you haven’t created your statement of life purpose, close this article and go do something else with your life because you really do not want to learn to be successful with the law of attraction.
So, close your browser and go watch TV or do the exercises right.
You will want to set goals for each of the important areas of your life. The most common areas include:
- Physical
- Mental
- Emotional
- Financial
- Spiritual
- Relationships
- Fun/Joy/Happiness
These areas do not represent an exhaustive list. Feel free to add, modify or delete the list for your own purposes.
Create a concise statement that expresses each goal(s) in a positive expression of gratitude as if you have already achieved each goal. Spend some time on this as these statements will form the basis of your daily affirmations as discussed below. Here are a couple of examples.
I am so grateful now that I have $30,000 per month in passive income from all of my businesses.
I am so grateful now that I am 165 lbs. strong, healthy and full of energy.
After you have written each goal statement, you should have 7 to 10 positive statements. You will have 7-10 statements that positively state each of your goals as if you have already achieved them. As with your statement of life purpose, it is okay to modify or change these over time as you grow in your personal development journey (or when you actually manifest the goal!!!).
Now, write a paragraph for each of your goal statements that paints a snapshot of what your life would be like after you achieve each goal. You should write five to seven sentences maximum. Here is an example.
I am so grateful for my yellow Piper Super Cub. I feel the cool air swirling through the cockpit as a glide effortlessly over the lake. I smell the fall air and marvel at the red leaves on the trees. I smell the crisp, cold water below me as the engine hums through the cockpit and the radio crackles. The sun rays dance over the waves like silvery diamonds. I am grateful to feel this free to experience God’s creation from the air.
Do you notice the formula I used? Here it is in outline form:
- Goal statement, phrased in positive terms, with an attitude of gratitude as if it is already reality.
- What physical sensations do you experience?
- What can you smell?
- What do you hear?
- What can you taste?
- What do you see?
- Closing statement of gratitude that incorporates an emotional sensation into the sentence.
Step Three: Create A List Of Powerful Affirmations To Manifest Your Goals
Ultimately, you are going to create a list of 15 to 20 affirmations . You can have fewer, but not more. Now, seven to ten of these affirmations will be the positive goal statements that you created above. The remainder should be inspiring statements, quotes or words that reflect the empowering, positive mental attitude that will become a part of your conscious creation efforts. Here are some examples of statements that I have used:
- I am healthy, wealthy and wise
- Fake it til you make it
- I embrace competition because I deserve to win
- God loves me and wants me to be happy
You Should Have Three Documents
If you have followed instructions, you should have three documents at this point.
Author’s Note: Seriously, at this point if you have not followed instructions, why are you still here? Last chance, okay? You need to stop, go back and do the exercises. Seriously, do them now…Or quit complaining that you do not have the life of your dreams.
Anyway, if you have done the exercises, you should have:
- A concise statement of life purpose
- A list of 14-20 positive affirmations
- Seven to ten short paragraphs that paint a snapshot of your life after you experience each goal.
