Transforming Inner Resistance

Have you met Resistance? If you live on the earth, in a human body, you surely have.
Resistance gets in our way by every method possible. It makes us sleepy, exhausted, sick, lose interest, procrastinate, forget our passion and avoid trying. Resistance is the main force keeping us from living the life we were meant to live.
The most informative, entertaining and inspiring book I’ve read about the nature of what keeps us stuck and small, is Steven Pressfield’s, The War of Art.
Here are three gems, quoted from this inspiring book, along with questions you can ask yourself to gain insight into your own personal Resistance. I show you how you can combine Pressfield’s genius with EFT tapping.
Take your answers and use them in Emotional Freedom Tapping. At each tapping point, say one of your answers. Need to learn more tapping technique tips?
Pressfield: Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.
You’ve had glimpses of our unlived life. These glimpses sometimes arise in the middle of the night, when alone in nature, or even when tragedy or illness strikes you.
The power of these moments opens a window into our possible future.
Answer these questions to help you understand the nature of your own Resistance.
What would you lose if you lived your unlived life?
In what ways would it not feel safe to live your unlived life?
Who would it upset
Who would you be if you lived the life you dream of?
By tapping on the meridian points while answering the questions, You close the gap between your life and your unlived life.
Pressfield Says: Look in your own heart. Unless I’m crazy, right now a still small voice is piping up, telling you as it has ten thousand times, the calling that is yours and yours alone.
Get some privacy, get quiet and ask yourself these questions.
What’s in my heart?
When I listen, what do I hear from my still small voice?
What calling have I heard ten thousand times?
Turn what you hear into your EFT script.
Here’s Pressfield: Resistance is not a peripheral opponent. Resistance arises from within. It is self-generated and self-perpetuated. Resistance is the enemy within.
Answer these questions for insight into the enemy within.
What enemy arises from within you?
How do you keep generating your Resistance from inside?
How do you see your enemy as peripheral, as outside of you?
In what ways do you perpetuate Resistance?
Let your answers be your tapping script. That activity will help bridge the gap between you lived and your unlived life. This practice can align your inner enemy with your dreams – and make them possible. With Emotional Tapping, you can transform your Resistance and you life.
