Understanding and Applying The Law Of Attraction (Part 2)
Posted on | May 29, 2009 | No Comments
In Part 1, we learned that the law of attraction works in our lives – regardless of our intent. We also learned that, through the process of conscious creation, we can use our thoughts to bring our hopes and desires into reality. That formula is succinctly stated:
Our thoughts, amplified by our emotions, create reality
Today, we will examine, in greater detail, how to control our thoughts in order to create more of what we want.
The Law Of Attraction Dictates That Thoughts Are Energy
Through our thoughts, we reach out into the Universe and attract other energy that matches out own. Einstein’s equation
E=MC2
demonstrates that mass (ie solid matter) and energy are related. Indeed, everything in the universe is energy, including things that appear to be solid. Every energy form, solid or otherwise, has a unique frequency or vibration. We use microwaves to cook food by causing the water molecules in the food to vibrate at a certain frequency.
Thoughts, as energy, affect the physical world in the same or similar way as sound shatters glass or microwaves cook food.
Our attention to subjects, with the associated thought energy, is responsible for every person, every event, and every circumstance that manifests itself as reality. If we see it, feel it, hear it or taste it, we can bet that we brought it into our experience by our own thought energy.
The Law Of Attraction: Positive and Negative – We Are Responsible For It All
The idea that we manifest what we think about, positive or negative, may be a bit disturbing initially. However, depending on how we look at it, this power can be a vast blessing or a cruel curse because the law of attraction puts the power of creation and destruction squarely within our control. For freedom minded individuals, this comes as an exciting proposition, full of potential. For the chronic complainers and excuse makers, it denies them the ability to ignore their personal failures and faults.
As we begin actively applying the law of attraction, we notice the content of our thoughts as well as the cause of those same thoughts.
Is it something we read, saw on TV, overheard in a conversation, or the result of chronic negative self talk?
It does not matter whether or not the events upon which we are focusing occurred in the past or are expected to occur in the future. The feelings associated with those thoughts are happening right now. As such, the law of attraction is at work right now manifesting a reality that is consistent with those thoughts.
Conscious Creation: The Law Of Attraction Holds That It’s All Real In The Mind
There is a huge difference between subjective reality and our perceived reality. For instance:
I may go to work and have my boss ignore me. My perceived reality is that my boss is upset or angry with me. In fact, the objective reality is that my boss was just told that he is going to get a divorce. In fact, my perceived reality and the subjective reality were completely inconsistent.
Another example.
I begin to have chest pains and heart palpitations. My perceived reality might be that I am having a heart attack. However, upon a proper medical examination, it might be determined that the objective reality was that I was having a panic attack. Our reality is created first in our own minds. If we feel poor, the universe, our body and mind will work in harmony to give us that condition.
While our words alone will not bring about an immediate change in our reality; words can be used to change our state of mind.
Tony Robbins calls this self talk, an “incantation.”
I like the analogy because I have noticed that, in my own life, the chronic phrases that I use tend to manifest as reality. For instance,
- “I’ve got too much to do.” This routinely leads to family, friends and co-workers piling projects on me.
- “Nothing ever goes my way.” This routinely leads to unexpected problems and mishaps.
- “I’m sick and tired.” This leads to me being sick and burned out.
Even though words do not attract, the feelings that are associated with the words raise the vibration associated with the words. The law of attraction responds by moving toward manifesting the words as reality.
Seek Happiness And Everything Else Will Fall Into Place
Even experienced law of attraction practitioners fall into the trap of focusing too much on the object of their desire as opposed to trying to create the good feeling associated with it.
For instance, if you want to be wealthier, it is better to focus on all of the things you will do with the increased wealth that will make you happy. We often focus on the money itself which, if we are not careful, can lead us to actually focus on the “lack” of money instead.
This can have disastrous results.
The solution is to focus on that which cultivates feelings of happiness. We cannot feel joy while focused on the lack of something wanted. When we feel joy, or cultivate the feeling of joy, we will always be in the proper vibrational state.
Law Of Attraction: Summarizing The Idea Of Conscious Creation
- Our thoughts, amplified by our emotions, create our reality.
- We have to constantly monitor our thoughts so that we are focused on things that we want, instead of that which we do not want.
- Furthermore, as we realize that our thoughts create our feelings, we need to focus on thoughts, attitudes and self talk that will generate feelings of joy and happiness.
- As we do so, the emotionally charged positive thoughts will begin to reshape our reality into that which we have always wanted.
